Corporate Social Responsibility

We are committed to being ethically and socially responsible for all aspects of our business (including our residents, our staff, our partners and our suppliers), to contribute positively to the communities in which we operate. We are committed not only to providing innovative high quality housing, but also to creating dynamic sustainable communities. Some of the things we do include:

Charity Giving

In May 2013, we decided to build on the fantastic work staff had been doing in the past with various health and wellbeing initiatives, ‘Give & Gain’ projects and a multitude of fund raising activities, and bring them together as part of the Corporate Charity Challenge – ‘Raise the Roof’.

The first part of the ‘Challenge’ was for staff to select a charity to focus our efforts on and Cancer Research UK has since become our nominated charity partner.

Health & Well being

The well-being of our residents and staff is as important to us as the homes we build, the communities we nurture and the workplace environments we create. We aim to promote healthy lifestyles through our community events and the numerous initiatives we set up.

Environmental Sustainability

We aim to promote good environmental practice to minimise our impact on the environment. Following this commitment, we reduce the amount of waste we generate, and we reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible. We continue to promote sustainable methods of construction and maintenance, provide residents with energy-efficient homes, with affordable running costs and we educate our staff to help them work in an environmentally friendly way.

Give & Gain

We encourage staff to take part in ‘Give and Gain’ Day, a nationwide initiative where employees get involved in projects within the community. Staff take time away from their usual job to get involved in community projects to help improve the lives of others.
