Residents help shape housing services
A local housing association is encouraging more residents to volunteer in key roles helping to shape services provided in the future.
“Our residents are at the heart of all we do and we want to support as many as possible in getting involved to have their say on services affecting them,” said Ed Hughes, Head of Resident Services at Clwyd Alyn Housing Association and Tŷ Glas Housing Society, which are part of the Pennaf Housing Group.
“We already have residents who are on the Boards of Management, and others who are members of a resident led Service Improvement Committee which makes sure that the quality of our services provides value for money and meets the expectation of our wider resident population. We currently have a vacancy on this committee for a resident representative”.
“Resident volunteers also play a key part in inspecting services such as maintenance and complete telephone surveys with other tenants who have had repairs carried out to their properties to ask how satisfied they were with the repair”.
Gareth Hughes Roberts, Community Involvement Officer with Clwyd Alyn added: “We have resident volunteers from across the region and would always like to hear from others who would like to help shape the future of services. We’ll provide training and we’re also very happy to listen to new ways they may wish to be involved too”.
“We would particularly like to hear from Residents from the Conwy, Ynys Môn and Powys areas”.
