Service Charges & Fees

What is a service charge?

You will normally have to pay a service charge if you live in a house or flat that has use of a communal area or where there are annual servicing contracts in place such as insurance.

A service charge is the charge made for the provision of a service which is payable by a leaseholder or freeholder towards the costs of services, general maintenance repairs or improvements. It also covers other charges or costs, including some administrative or management costs.  Your lease or title will include details of the areas that you are required to contribute towards.

What is included within the service charge?

Each year you will receive a service charge budget sheet following consultation showing what charges are included in the service charge calculations. These will be based on what we expect the expenditure to be for the upkeep of the internal and external common areas of your scheme.

We will provide services which:

  • Are necessary for good management.
  • Are at the request of our customers after consultation.
  • Are required to meet our legal obligations.
  • Represent good practice
  • Buildings Insurance
