ClwydAlyn publishes first Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report
ClwydAlyn has published its first ever Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report, which informs stakeholders about the work done across the organisation on a range of ESG indicators, from resident satisfaction to the reduction of fuel poverty and climate change.
The Sustainability Reporting Standard (SRS) for the social housing sector was launched in the UK in November 2020. The standard is a voluntary framework for housing providers to report on ESG performance in a transparent, consistent, and comparable way, across 12 different themes.
ClwydAlyn is one of 59 housing associations and 36 lenders and investors to become an early adopter of the standard, and one of only six in Wales.
Clare Budden, CEO of ClwydAlyn commented:
“Our early adoption of the SRS standard is a clear indication of the importance we place on addressing the urgency of the climate crisis, while balancing our ambitious poverty priorities, and ensuring our organisation is well governed and financially sustainable for the future.
“Going through this process for the first time has enabled us to reflect on our achievements. Such as achieving 91% resident satisfaction with our overall service, and the impressive amount of social value we have delivered while supporting residents. It also highlights where we can improve in the future, such as how quickly we can decarbonise our existing homes. We are committed to making progress on this agenda each year.”
