ClwydAlyn shortlisted for national housing award for their excellence in health and wellbeing.

ClwydAlyn shortlisted for national housing award for their excellence in health and wellbeing.

We are delighted to share that we have been shortlisted for the Chartered Institute of Housing’s annual Welsh Housing Awards for our commitment to health and wellbeing. The Welsh Housing Awards recognise and celebrate the creativity, passion and innovation of housing associations and individuals across the sector in Wales.

Elaine Gilbert, Director of People, Communications and Marketing at ClwydAlyn said:

“The health and wellbeing of our people and residents has been our priority during what has been a very challenging year. We are very proud to have reached the final of these prestigious awards. We aim to provide an inspiring environment for people to thrive and we focus on the positive wellbeing of each of our employees.

“We’re on a mission to beat poverty and that starts with our talented team of people. We want our people to work flexibly and creatively in the best interests of our residents, themselves and the business; and we give them the freedom to do this team by team.

“COVID-19 has enabled us to accelerate our plans and has encouraged staff to think differently about how, when and where they work. These arrangements have been agreed within each of our services and are important to us, because we understand the more flexible we are, the better the service we can provide, and the happier our people will be.

“Our wellbeing approach supports our residents too, no matter what they are experiencing in their lives, we don’t want them to have to worry that they are at risk of losing their home; we want them to feel confident about approaching us for help, knowing we’ll support them to resolve whatever issues they are facing.

“We’re committed to zero evictions; if our residents are struggling to pay their rent we want to know why, encouraging conversations rather than formal actions. We’ve reduced evictions by 87% with no evictions into homelessness. Our staff take part in wellbeing calls, spending half a day every month on the phone supporting residents.”

Winners will be announced at a virtual Awards ceremony on the 30th September 2021.
