Kind-hearted tenants raise money for Wrexham Foodbank
Residents living at ClwydAlyn’s Plas Teford in Wrexham have joined together to raise £1,200 for Wrexham foodbank.
Tenants chose to donate £500 from their ‘tenants fund’, which usually pays for activities, prizes, day trips and entertainment, with an additional £700 raised through individual donations.
Mr John Cosgrove, a resident at Plas Telford, said: “Many families are suffering tremendous hardship because of the ongoing pandemic; we the tenants at Plas Telford are fortunately isolated from the difficulties these families face, in our hometown. We wanted to help those in need and help make a difference to people’s lives”.
Richard Crane, manager of the extra care scheme at ClwydAlyn, said: “Due to the ongoing pandemic many families have been unable to buy food, and this was happening in our hometown. Our tenants wanted to help those in need and help make a difference to people’s lives.
“It makes me very proud to see our tenants showing such kindness by giving up their own funds to help others, especially when they have their own health issues and disabilities”.
“We hope our donations go some way towards making a real difference to members of our community”.
