New appointment to drive ClwydAlyn’s green ambitions

ClwydAlyn has appointed Thomas Boome as its Head of Technical, Innovation and Climate.

Boome was appointed to the newly created role at ClwydAlyn at the end of March and will play a critical role in leading in the organisation’s Environmental Vision.

Before joining ClwydAlyn, Mr Boome spent eight years in the architectural and project management field, working to deliver opportunities to develop the economy here in North Wales.

Executive Director of Development at ClwydAlyn, Craig Sparrow said:

“Thomas is a talented designer with a keen technical eye who brings a lot of experience to this newly created role within ClwydAlyn.

“We’re looking forward to seeing what Mr Boome brings to the role as we continue on our journey and our decarbonisation ambitions.

“As we continue to grow, it’s important that our partners, residents and investors feel reassured, and this role will help us drive our carbon reduction strategy for our existing homes as well as lead on ground breaking new developments that will showcase ClwydAlyn as a market leader within the housing sector.”

This news comes following ClwydAlyn’s commitment to implement its business plan, which is focused on tackling poverty across North Wales, as well as implement its Environmental strategy. This will include the roll out of all new builds being rated EPC A, which will see ClwydAlyn introduce air source or electric heating systems in its homes and stop using gas.

Thomas Boome said:

“ClwydAlyn has a clear vision to become a sustainable Housing Association. This mindset inspired me, and I knew this was something I wanted to be a part of. Now more than ever we see how important energy efficient homes are and I can’t wait to get stuck in on the future developments here at ClwydAlyn.

“I look forward to supporting the organisation on the next phase of its growth plan and helping it achieve its goal to beat poverty.”
