Update on services in area of local lockdown

01 October 2020 - Update on services in area of local lockdown

The health minister for Wales announced on Tuesday that coronavirus cases have been rising in four of our local authority areas and “swift action” needs to be taken to control the spread of the virus. Local lockdown measures will come into effect in Denbighshire, Flintshire, Wrexham and Conwy at 6pm today (Thursday 1st October).

We would like to reassure you that the health and wellbeing of our residents and staff remains our number one priority. There is minimal change to the services we provide. All essential services within trades, housing, supported living and care will continue, alongside the guidance we are following on safe ways of working. The only change is that unfortunately there will be no visitors allowed in our care homes, please liaise with your Care Home Manager for further details.

All essential services within Assets and Maintenance will continue where safe to do so and if residents are happy for us to continue as planned.  We will be closely monitoring the on-going situation and reviewing our Recovery Plan as appropriate.

Our approach and service remain:

Safety First – We will only access homes to undertake repairs where it is safe for our residents and staff. We will ask all residents to complete a COVID-19 Questionnaire before any work takes place and residents will be asked to help provide a safe environment for all.

We are currently in phase two of our recovery repair plan.

  • Emergency and essential work will take priority, these are things that could affect residents’ health or the structure of the building.
  • Compliance work such as gas inspections etc.
  • Non-Essential work (general repairs) that are safe to undertake – up to 2hrs, potentially longer but only if it is safe to do so.
  • External work and work in communal areas
  • Planned kitchen and bathrooms (low risk properties have been identified to trial this work)

We trust you to help us to carry out work safely in your property. Our safety first pledge protects both you and our staff and we take your safety seriously. If the pledge is broken, we will leave the property and won’t be able to complete the work. To download our safety first pledge please click here. Please take a minute to watch our safety first video.

NHS COVID-19 App - We would like to encourage all our residents to download the NHS COVID-19 app. It is a vital part in the fight against Coronavirus, it’s completely anonymous, tells you your risk level, you can check your symptoms and you can book your COVID test. Please download it today and help to keep Wales Safe: https://covid19.nhs.uk/
