Winter Fuel Support Scheme
In order to assist working age households on low incomes, Welsh Government has introduced a Winter Fuel Support Scheme.
It allows eligible households to claim a one-off £100 payment from their local council to provide support towards paying their winter fuel bills. The payment will be available to all eligible households regardless of whether you pay for your fuel on a pre-payment metre, by direct debit or by paying a bill quarterly.
Those who may be eligible for the payment, should be contacted by their local authority and be invited to make a claim for the scheme.
Anyone who is not contacted who believes they are eligible for the payment, can also submit a claim from through their local authority’s website from 13 December 2021 until midnight on 18 February 2022.
