Last week, Jack Sargeant, Member of the Senedd for Alyn and Deeside, visited ClwydAlyn’s Northern Gateway development in Deeside to find out how the homes have benefitted new residents.
ClwydAlyn’s recently completed development of 100 new, affordable homes has been built in partnership with Flintshire County Council and Welsh Government. The homes have all been built as ‘lifetime homes’, designed to be adaptable and meet the changing needs of the residents, incorporating sustainable technology to ensure lower running costs.
Mr Sargeant is a passionate advocate of social homes. As a Connah’s Quay local, he was keen to find out more about the Northern Gateway development; chat to residents and the ClwydAlyn team to find out how these homes will form part of their future.
With a focus on tackling rising fuel costs and creating energy efficient homes, all properties at Northern Gateway incorporate cleaner, greener technologies and innovative designs. Additions including air source heat pumps and solar electricity panels make heating and powering the properties much more affordable and residents are already experiencing the advantages.
Mr Sargeant met with resident Danielle and her daughter, who is keen to raise her family in a stable, positive community.
“Community matters. A good home and a sense of community is so important for giving people good outcomes and is vital for building the economy.
“I’m so pleased to see that the residents here have settled in so well and wish them all the best for their futures.”
All the homes at ClwydAlyn’s Northern Gateway development have now been allocated. To find out more about upcoming developments across North Wales visit: Our Developments – Clwydalyn
