Colleagues at St Asaph-based housing association, ClwydAlyn, have chosen men’s mental health charity ANDYSMANCLUB as their Charity of the Year, following a staff-wide vote.
The charity was selected from a shortlist of worthy causes also nominated by colleagues; with ANDYSMANCLUB receiving overwhelming support.
ClwydAlyn’s Sports and Social Committee (SAS), will now facilitate a packed calendar of fundraising activities throughout the year, which will include a football tournament, a darts competition, a charity golf day, quizzes, sponsored events and much more – designed to bring colleagues and the local community together, while raising awareness and vital funds for the charity.
ANDYSMANCLUB is a UK wide suicide prevention charity which provides free peer-to-peer support groups for men aged 18 and over. It was founded in 2016 to end the stigma surrounding men’s health and encourages men to open-up through the power of conversation and connection. The charity’s phrase is “It’s ok to talk”, and participants are supported in a non-judgemental, safe environment.

“At ANDYSMANCLUB, we are first and foremost an awareness organisation our mission has always been to break the stigma around men’s mental health and ensure that no man ever feels alone in his struggles. While fundraising is crucial to keeping our work going, it’s the conversations, the visibility, and the ripple effect of raising awareness that truly drives change."
