Social Housing Sector Leader Wins Prestigious ‘Regional Financial Director of the Year’ Award

Sandy Murray of St Asaph based housing association ClwydAlyn has been recognised as the region’s leading financial director at the Finance Director of the Year Awards 2025, which took place in Liverpool last week.

Executive Director of Resources Sandy Murray took home the award for Financial Director of the Year, North Wales Region, in celebration of her strong financial leadership of the social homes provider, ClwydAlyn.

The 2025 Finance Director of the Year Awards took place at the Crowne Plaza Liverpool on 13 November 2025. The event honoured exceptional financial leaders from Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire, North Wales, and Warrington.

The awards recognise strong financial management, strategic insight and the commitment of financial directors, who play a pivotal role in driving business success across the regions. An organisation with circa 700 colleagues, ClwydAlyn is a large local employer with an annual turnover of £68 million and a £300 million development programme currently underway. Mrs Murray heads up the organisation’s finance, governance, procurement, IT and business transformation functions; critical areas which ensure long-term success and sustainability.
