Residents at Hafan Gwydir independent living scheme in Llanrwst were treated to an afternoon of music and refreshments, as spring was welcomed with a live performance and afternoon tea.

As a treat for Hafan Gwydir’s residents, a local musical duo set up and performed an enjoyable programme of traditional Welsh classical pieces in a poignant recent performance. The talented musicians a retired local GP and local chiropodist, played the cello and clarinet, creating an uplifting atmosphere for all the retirees at the Llanrwst over 60s community.

Following the concert, residents were treated to a truly delicious afternoon tea, prepared by Hafan Gwydir’s on-site catering team. The spread of freshly made sandwiches, cakes, plenty of tea and refreshments offered the ideal accompaniment to conclude an afternoon of culture and community.

The event, which heralded the start of Hafan Gwydir’s springtime activities, was well attended, with more than half of the residents coming together to enjoy the occasion.

“I enjoyed the classical music very much and the afternoon tea was delicious. Overall, the whole event was lovely”.
